How did the pointed hat of European aristocracy become an anti-Jewish Symbol? And was it the forerunner of the modern skullcap?

An article in The Librarians an online magazine published by the National Library of Israel gives an interesting explanation of the origin of the ‘Pointed Hat’ worn my Jews in the Middle Ages in Europe. We have chosen this figure  as our masthead illustration.
